Whoever thought up the idea of printing the credit card number on the signature strip of said credit card is just nuts. I know they've been that way for a long time, but it seems like they are getting more obtrusive in their placement. I got a new card today and the number takes up pretty much the whole signature spot. There is a 1/4 of space on both ends of the strip and the number is smack dab in the middle of the rest of it. I could do like my hubby did recently and just sign over it, but then that got him in trouble when buying online yesterday. He was unable to read the three digit number at the end that online retailers often ask for and his credit card was declined.
I guess I'll just start at the far left and sign over the dark bold numbers. I'm just going to be sure not to cover those all important last three digits.
